Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

Hi:

I have just followed the instructions, and I am running emonhub + emoncms (low write version). I am sending data both locally and to emoncms WWW server.

Whereas in local, myElectric works perfectly fine, myelectric doesn't show any kWh value in "emoncms WAN server"......

Any idea?

Regards,

Iridium.

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

Any idea? Is it maybe a known bug for using emontx v2 instead of the v3 version??

Iridium.

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

Mine does the same thing, or NaN kWh depending on what I set the bar graph feed as.

Yes, a bug has crept in somewhere. I've made Trystan aware of it, and I'm sure it will get sorted soon.

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

This bug and reinstating the ability to load myelectric using the apikey for easy bookmarking are now both fixed. I've also added day of the week letters and weekend's are shaded to make it easier to see which days your looking at:

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

I posted in another thread, but I wonder, is there a reason that my report shows 5-7 digits after the decimal?

Thanks, fixed that one too now!

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

I'm on v8.5 using the development app, and the USE TODAY 0.0kWh bug still exists for me, sorry!

I'm using this guide to set up the My Electric app, and using a PHPFIWA feed as the power feed, and a PHPFINA accumulating kwh feed for the bar graph feed. The bar graphs & power now displays OK, but the Use Today still remains zero.

Looking at this closer (screenshot below) it seems to be reading the wrong day's data, as my accumulating kwh & kwh/d indicate 3.7kwh/d for Sunday, 6.1 for Monday & 2.9 for today (Tuesday). Whilst the My Electric app shows 9, 4 & 6 for the same 3 days.

If I check $ date I get Tue Apr  7 20:42:27 BST 2015 which is correct, and if I check Account>My Profile>Timezone I see Europe/London (GMT +01:00) which again is correct.

A further clue may be the kwh/d phptimeseries feed which shows 12:00:00 instead of what I presume should be 00:00:00?

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

I am seeing the same as Paul re. dates. However I am getting a value in USE TODAY, but it looks like the total for yesterday. My server (which is running emoncms) is configured with Pacific/Auckland timezone, as is emoncms Account -> My Profile -> Timezone. I only changed this from UTC a few days ago after I got a massive negative number for my daily usage feed on the DST changeover day (my server has always been Pacific/Auckland).

Like Paul all my daily bar graphs are showing '12:00:00'. The updated My Electric is correctly showing 35kWh for Tuesday (yesterday) but USE TODAY is showing 35kWh - where as today is Wed and usage is currently only about 6kWh.

This date stuff is really messing with my head!

But thanks for fixing the My Electric dashboard Trystan - looks very nice with the shading and weekday letters.

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

Yes, that was me. Hadn't seen this thread here yet. Thought I should provide some more detailed information of what I observed.

This is what I see in the myElectric app today. The bar graph shows the correct values for the energy consumption of the past days and the current value for today. But the value displayed as USE TODAY is clearly yesterdays value:

So I viewed the graph of the energy feed and I get the following. All bars are displayed with one day delay, todays bar show yesterdays value and so on.

These two issues are probably related.

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

Hi Ondrej/Ben, what type of feed are you both using for the Bargraph feed? I'm using a phpfina feed. I suspect that you're using phptimeseries?

Paul

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

Yes, I am using PHPTIMESERIES as the measurement data doesn't come in in fixed intervals.

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

Yep - PHPTIMESERIES - is that wrong?

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

No, but I'm thinking that there are 2 bugs here;

  1. The bargraph displays the wrong day's data. and...
  2. The 'USE TODAY' does not work with phpfina feeds (which was the recommended feed type) but works OK with phptimeseries.

Just trying to get my head around what works and what doesn't!

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

Ok - here is my 'My Electric' dashboard for today (Thursday). As you can see the bars only go to Wed, and the USE TODAY value is the value for Wed, not today.

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

BTW - the blip for Sunday was our DST changeover day. I got some very odd readings for my daily accumulators that day (-250 odd).

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

Ben, I noticed tonight that none of my 'daily' feeds are showing any data prior to the UK DST changeover!
As can be seen below, our DST changeover was 29th March, so everything from that date backwards has disappeared.

There's something very wrong here.... git issue raised

Yep - I agree! Timezones will be the death of me.

Hi!

Where to fix the Power Now value? I only want 1 decimal point :)

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

What version emoncms are you using?

Bruno's picture

Re: Myelectric: USE TODAY 0.0kWh

If not mistaken, it's the last version - https://github.com/emoncms/emoncms master branch. I've followed this guide https://github.com/emoncms/emoncms/blob/master/docs/LinuxInstall.md
